One of the things that has got me in full-on wedding mode was attending my bestie Yasmin and Liam’s Italy nuptials. How could I not be inspired by such a gorgeous big day?!

My first ever destination wedding, of course one of the first things to cross my mind was what was I going to wear?!

I wanted something super stylish for the Tuscan backdrop, but also something that wasn’t going to make me too hot in the July sunshine.

After many (many) hours of searching online, it was good old Zara who saved the day.

I’ve had quite a few messages about finding an outfit for an abroad wedding so I thought I’d share my top tips in finding the right style – and some other beauty tips to keep you feeling fabulous all day.

I think going for something floaty was key for me and this Zara silky gown was perfect.

As soon as I got to where we were staying, I made sure to hang the dress up to prevent too many creases, but check with your accommodation for an iron, just in case.

I was seriously worried about crushing my dress or spilling something on it when travelling so I had it in a separate bag, rolled and not folded!

As much as I usually love hats, I knew I’d be too hot and bothered with any proper head accessories.

I think something like an embellished head band is perfect to add a little something, but after a search on Pinterest, I decided on a hair up with a hair plait, which I got from Claire’s for just £8.

Keeping the rest simple, I added a little luxe with a gold beaded bag and rose gold shoes.

Of course, remember your sunglasses for a sunny abroad wedding. I loved these ones from Nasty Gal – very 70’s glam!

I’m not quite sure how the Love Island girls keep looking glam when it’s seriously hot out – seriously, I’m far too used to Scottish temperatures!

For my hair, it was plenty of kirbys and Silvikrin hairspray, but I also love Creightons Frizz No More Sleek & Shine Serum to try keep things frizz free.

Make-up, I used Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray at every stage of doing my make-up and plenty of bareMinerals mineral veil.

As my bag wasn’t the most practical, I had to choose to pack light and think it’s easiest to take some essentials for quick touch-ups.

BareMinerals’ stick foundation was a life-saver, whilst Bobbi Brown’s mini shimmer brick helped give me a glow later in the day.

I also keep the mini samples of perfumes you sometimes get as a freebie with a purchase through the year as I think they’re the perfect thing to keep in your handbag. Mini deodorant and extra kirbys are also a must in the heat.

Are you attending a wedding in a hot and sunny location? I’d love to hear what you’re planning for your outfit.

You might have seen on my Insta stories last month that BareMinerals invited me in to the Glasgow store for a makeover by the amazing Gina, using the brand new COMPLEXION RESCUE™ Hydrating Foundation Stick for a flawless base.

I wasn’t totally sure I’d like a foundation stick – I have some bad memories of the infamous pan stick make up circa 2003 – but this is totally different!

First impressions: I couldn’t believe how hydrating the foundation was on the skin, which Gina explained is down to the new wonder product being made with over 30% mineral water.

The vegan-friendly foundation is actually the first clean, water-based liquid foundation in a stick with SPF 25.

To get the perfect base, Gina used the new dual-sided silicone and sponge applicator – it’s really different to any other foundation sponge I’ve used and comes in a little plastic zip bag, keeping it clean in my make-up bag.

Of course, what’s a good make-up look without good skincare? I discussed my skin concerns with Gina during my appointment as I just seem to suffer from quite a lot of break outs, especially when I’m stressed.

Among the stand-out products Gina recommended were the Skinlongevity Vital Power Eye Cream, Skinlongevity Moisturizer and the Smart Combination™ Smoothing Lightweight Emulsion.

The BareMinerals team kindly sent the products out to me after the appointment for me to try out and I love how hydrating they feel on my skin. It’s also worth noting that BareMinerals products are clean, including being paraben and cruelty-free.

I’m 100% packing the products for my trip to Italy later this month – the foundation stick will be a saviour for on-the-go touch-ups whilst we run around Florence eating as much pizza as possible!

Have you tried any of the BareMinerals products I’ve shared? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

With thanks to BareMinerals for the gifted products. As always, all opinions, words and imagery are my own.

Is there anything better than embracing the festive season with a glass of bubbly?

You might remember our day out with Glasgow Loves Christmas last year so I was so excited for this years evening of Christmas fun.

We started off with a Mac masterclass at House of Fraser before taking a look around the department store’s festive treats, from the Dior Christmas tree to their Santa experience, which is SO cute for kids, seriously magical! Santa will be in his HOF grotto every Saturday on the run up to Christmas and you can call the store to book.

Next up was a trip to the Christmas markets at George Square. If I’m really honest, I was a bit underwhelmed by the George Square one last year so I’m delighted to say this year is the best I can remember in a long time.

The food is amazing, there’s live music each day performing Christmas faves, the perfect setting to enjoy a Baileys hot chocolate from the bar and we even had a go on the big wheel and carousel.

Our night of festivities continued as we headed to John Lewis in Buchanan Galleries for a styling session with the store’s lovely personal shopper, Rachel. The personal styling appointments are completely free and is such a relaxed space to find your perfect wardrobe. We also got a glimpse into how to create the most amazing Christmas dinner table – check out those jewel tones! Serious goals for whenever I actually manage to do a Christmas dinner at my own house (sorry mum, looks like you’ll be cooking Christmas for us for at least another year!)

Last, but by no means least was my first venture to the brand new Everyman cinema in Princes Square. One thing I have to point out is this stylish little spot is so much more than just a cinema! We tried out their cocktails (the frozen pina colada is a DREAM), the food (also amazing and really fairly priced) and chilled out in the plush bar area. When you do go for a film, you can get all your food and drinks to your seat – hello Prosecco cinema dates! I was really impressed by everything about Everyman, from the friendly staff to the boutique feel of the theatre. Plus, they’re showing Christmas films in the festive run-up, which you can see more about on their website.

It’s official: Christmas is here, Glasgow!

When I want to relax, nothing really beats a spa day. Fluffy robes, a glass of bubbles and a luxury lounger are the key to happiness, I’m telling you!

The run up to Christmas is just so busy, if you’re not running around crowded shops trying to figure out what slippers your mum would prefer, you’re nursing a *slight* hangover from yet another festive party (just me?). And don’t even get me started on the bad weather and it’s affect on my poor skin!

I think it’s so important to treat yourself when things are so hectic, so I was so happy to see Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa encouraging people to remember to look after their skin this winter with its special Festive Spa Day.

I’ve visited the hotel before, as it’s not far from where Brian’s family live, but had never used the spa and knew I was in for a treat!

Back to the Festive Spa Day, it’s a totally personalised experience and is perfect for those looking for some much-needed indulgence or simply a spot of festive pampering. A gift to you, from you.

It’s also totally affordable too, from just £44.50 per person.

Your festive day of relaxation includes a 55-minute ELEMIS Couture Touch Treatment as well as full use of spa facilities, a complimentary glass of prosecco and festive mince pie.

Plus, you will also receive 20% off additional treatments as well as a £5 retail voucher – perfect for those last-minute Christmas gifts or a personal treat.

The ELEMIS Couture Touch treatment offers a full body experience and is designed to condition skin from head to toe while rejuvenating tired muscles – perfect for some post shopping relaxation.

The treatment starts off with an indulgent facial where skin will be cleansed, toned and exfoliated before a mask is applied, with all products specific to the your skin’s needs. For the second half of the treatment, you choose between a deep tissue massage or deep hot stone massage. I opted for the deep tissue and felt so much better after it.

I then made full use of the v. stylish and luxurious relaxation room. Sipping my prosecco whilst reading a magazine was a dreamy Sunday.

We’re already planning a return visit, especially as the festive offer runs until 31st December and I know I’ll need some spa TLC by the time I finish my Christmas shopping!

This was a complimentary treatment, but all words and opinions my own.

Halloween and Bonfire Night have been and gone, the clocks have changed and I had to scrape ice off my car last week so it’s officially okay to talk about Christmas: hurrah!

The first festive of the event calendar is here too, thanks to the lovely ladies at bareMinerals.

The bareMinerals Glasgow store in Buchanan Galleries played host to a glitzy blogger Christmas evening of beauty, fizz and plenty of new launches that you’ll want to add to your Christmas list – and now they’re inviting you to the VIP evening too!

This Thursday (8th November), you can book your free slot at one of their VIP Give the Stars Christmas Events, taking place at their top 50 stores and, lucky for Scottish beauty lovers, the Glasgow Buchanan Galleries store is included!

You’ll get an exclusive look at the Give the Stars collection with a VIP masterclass and some festive treats too.

I’ve not used the brand in a really long time admittedly, so it was so nice to be reintroduced to the cult classics, like their Original Foundation, and discover some of the new gift sets and products making their way to the brand in time for Christmas.

It’s not even just the gorgeous products and gift sets that has me excited for the Christmas shopping, it’s the navy blue and rose gold celestial inspired gift boxes and packaging. I love that you can get complimentary personalised gift wrapping  in-store in the festive run-up. How pretty will it all look under the tree?!

The team gave me a few lovely products from the collection to try too, but I thought I’d do a separate beauty post on them in the next few weeks for some party season make-up inspo! Let me know if you pop in store and tell me what your favourite pieces of the collection are.

If you fancy saving your place for this Thursday’s in-store bareMinerals VIP Christmas Event, click here for all the details.

Happy shopping!

From a young age, going a good shopping trip on a Saturday has always been my idea of fun. Pair that with getting to shop with your besties and getting to call it some sort of ‘work’, well – dream come true.

After loving the St Enoch Centre garden party earlier this month, Victoria, Yasmin and I knew we wanted to plan a summer shopping trip.

Cue an early morning Saturday meet up at the Starbucks in St Enoch’s Centre to plan our style stops. Planning a shopping trip with military precision: this is why we’re friends.

You’ll know from reading previous blogs that I massively rate the Topshop on Argyle Street, but people are always surprised when I tell them that it’s actually part of St Enoch Centre.

We must have looked like heavy duty shoppers as the lovely Personal Shopping team helped us into the Personal Shopper suite to commence an almighty try on of approx. 29,623 items we’d picked up in the store.

Just an FYI, the Topshop Personal Shopping appointments at the St Enoch Centre store are completely free – more on that here.

// IN THE BAG //

I opted for pieces in Topshop that I can wear abroad or at home. Whilst writing this, I’m also packing for my holiday (last minute packing – eek) and I’m taking all the gorgeous styles from St Enoch Centre that I picked up, but that I can also see me wearing loads at home.

More on my style picks later – let’s get back to the shopping.

One of my main go-to spots in St Enoch Centre always has to be the Debenhams beauty hall. With brands from Dior and Make Up Forever, to Bobbi Brown and Kat Von D, it is a beauty lovers haven.

You’ll see the holiday beauty products I added to my basket if you watch my video below, including my favourite ever bronzer and the eye palette you need for holiday!

One part of the beauty hall that really caught our eye was the Spritz Bar, helping you find your perfect scent.

The Mon Guerlain fragrance is still on of my favourites for summer!

Finding the Calvin Klein section in Debenhams felt like some sort of hidden gem! Tucked away in the nightwear section, you could totally wear these CK tshirts tucked into jeans with layered necklaces.

Another designer I was happy to see in the St Enoch Centre Debenhams was Tommy Hilfiger accessories – there was a Tommy beach bag that I’m still thinking about now!
