All I seem to talk about on the blog is the weather, but seriously I give up and have no idea what to wear on a day-to-day basis with sun, snow, sleet and wind alternating days.
Layering up has been a small savior, especially comfy sweatshirts over a little print. I loved this gingham and slogan look with these pink Zara heels for a Sunday lunch. I adore these shoes, but unfortunately they aren’t practical for much, after about 20 minutes they already hurt! Hopefully I can get a bit more summery soon and pack the jumpers and sweats away for a few months, but I doubt it!

If you’ve read my Barcelona post, you’ll know I love a little mini break – especially when it involves cheap flights! Okay, so Ryanair is hardly luxury but their prices are just too good that I can’t resist. Admittedly, Ryanair and other budget airlines do manage to hike the price up as soon as you add a hold bag onto the cost.

I am a bit of an over-packer (understatement) so the thought of trying to fit everything I would need into hand luggage filled me with fear. Just how can you fit all your toiletries into that one tiny plastic bag AND make them all 100ml or under? And that’s before even thinking about clothes, shoes, bags..
On a recent trip to Marbella for a hen weekend I even surprised myself and didn’t give in to my original plan of just paying the money to put an extra bag in the hold (£60 return to do this btw, which seemed silly for 2 nights). The good thing about Ryanair is you can take on a small carry on suitcase and a handbag which is much better! I thought I’d share with you the little packing essentials I found really helpful in packing light.

Perfect to keep in your handbag and an ideal amount for just a few days – they are really moisturizing too!

I always try have a smaller sized bottle of  one of my favourite perfumes – this is great for travelling and still has the lovely charm detailing. If you’re really struggling for space, sample sizes are great.

3. Malibu 20 SPF Lotion, £1 at Savers
This was a last minute buy but for this price I wanted to buy about 20! It is ideal for a short trip instead of buying an expensive larger bottle at Duty Free.

4. Creightons Bronze Ambition instant tan, 99p at Bodycare
I hold my hands up, I wear fake tan every. single. day. My favoruite normal tan is Sunkissed Mousse in Medium, but it doesnt come in 100ml or less size. This is a great alternative and smells amazing.

I’ve tried so many tan mits, but this has got to be the best and most durable I’ve tried.

Small but effective, this was a getting ready essential and so easy to fit in my bag. It charges with a USB wire which can plug into your Apple plug too.

7. Girls With Attitude fake eyelashes, £1.99 at Savers
I’d never tried these before, but I’ve seen a few bloggers use them so thought I’d try them over my usual Eylure fix. I highly recommend, even the glue is good unlike other cheaper lash brands.

9. Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner, £1.50*
I love this shampoo and conditioner, it is so nourishing and still gives plenty of volume. The extra hydration also is a bonus in the warmer climates and controls any frizz.

10. 100ml bottles (part of set), £1 at Primark
These 4 clear bottles and one small lipbalm-size container are lifesavers in taking your favourite getting-ready lotions and potions without having to source a travel-size product. Plus, they are so cheap you don’t feel bad if you don’t have space to bring them back with you.
I always try and make sure to have a small hairspray with me to give a bit of a volume boost so this size is great for travelling and for everyday use.

* Part of Superdrug 3 for £3 on selected travel size products

After a surprisingly hot and sunny few days, the temperature has cooled once again – I’m slightly worried those 3 days of sunshine may have been Scotland’s summer but hopefully not!
Although the summer vibes were a little short lived, I can’t bring myself to put my new purchase of these Zara snakeprint shorts away just yet. I spotted the faux leather beauties in the sale section and couldn’t hide my happiness when I took them up to the till and found out they were only £5.99! Those who know me know I am a complete bargain hunter – I’d say about 70% of my wardrobe is either sale or eBay finds (I feel not spending a lot prevents any shopping guilt?).
This is my first proper outfit post and I will admit I’ve been slightly anxious to get in front of the camera as I’m usually the one taking pictures instead, so please do let me know what you think either in the comments or Tweet me @rachellawler_.

After a serious spring clean, I accidentally reversed all my good clear out work by buying a few treats to get me into the new season. Although I am a complete shopaholic, I sadly do not have the budget I so desire. I thought I would share some of my favourite recent buys, all under £30 to give a guilt-free shop (kind of..)
1. I was just about finished my usual YSL Babydoll mascara when I was invited to Benefit’s Roller Lash launch in Glasgow. It took me until now to try it out and I have to admit I’m a complete convert to it now. I really notice how much it curls my lashes – and the packaging is 10/10 too!
2. After borrowing my sister’s denim jacket for pretty much the whole summer last year, I decided to invest in my own for SS15 (much to my sister’s relief too). Another H&M buy, it is the perfect fit and a great price compared to other retailers.
3. There’s a reason why New Look have won multiple Best Footwear awards in the past few years. I had to grab this pair of nude strappy sandals as they are a complete dupe of my shoe lust – the Yves Saint Laurent Tribute.
 4. It isn’t just my wardrobe getting an update, I thought my room and work space deserved a little Tender Loving Style too! This IKEA plant has given the fresh feel I was looking for – the best part being I don’t even need to remember to water it as it’s plastic!
5. Admittedly, my diet has taken a complete nosedive in the past few months so when better to start trying to get on the healthy eating bandwagon than having summer holiday body aspirations on the mind?! I loved the imagery and easy to understand recipes of this Love Food book and can’t wait to try out some clean eating.
The Clean Eating Kitchen, £3.99 at Dobbies

6. I’m not entirely sure why it has suddenly become so popular, but pineapples are everywhere interior-wise. Primark have not missed out on the fruity fun with this ceramic pineapple candle – stylish and costing less than a sandwich, what’s not to love?
Pineapple candle, £2 at Primark
7. Continuing with Primark’s pineapple loving, I couldn’t help pick up this bargain cushion. Okay, it may not be the most practical thing in the world but it will add a pop of colour to my office chair and keep me thinking of tropical getaways come summer (I wish).
Pineapple cushion, £3 at Primark
8. What do they say again? Three’s a trend? Yes, that is another pinepple – this time in necklace form. After seasons of statement necklaces, I’m quite partial to a trinket necklace which is a little more delicate for spring so this River Island find was a nice little surprise.
9. Forever 21 is the perfect place for a cheap and cheerful mood-booster and they didn’t let me down on my recent visit to the Glasgow store with this colourful wallet. The ‘Je t’aime’ gold lettering gives it a more expensive look and reminds me of Kate Spade’s accessories. I’ll be using it as a travel wallet when I jet off to Marbella later this month.
Wallet, £3.50 at Forever 21

On a surprisingly sunny Friday morning, I headed to Silverburn Shopping Centre for the start of their Spring Beauty Fix with a rather lovely Bloggers Brunch, held in Debenhams’ specially created Style Cafe.
I always love Silverburn’s Fashion and Beauty events, infact I was involved in organizing their Autumn Fashion Fix show and activities back in 2013 and know how enthusiastic and passionate the amazing marketing team are in all things style! Debenhams was the perfect place to start the beauty fun with their massive beauty hall.
After a refreshing brekkie of smoothies, fresh fruit salads and delicious pastries, we had a VIP masterclass on how to achieve the Giorgio Armani ‘glow’. I admittedly can get stuck in a bit of a beauty rut at times so it was great getting some new tips on updating my make up look, especially on using a bold red lipstick as my comfort zone is more a natural nude shade.
Although the Spring Beauty Fix weekend is over for this season, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for Silverburn’s next event; there are always amazing savings and giveaways (the Spring Beauty Fix was even giving away a £10 Silverburn gift card when you brought in 5 old beauty products).

To keep up with all things Silverburn, follow on Twitter @shopsilverburn or visit www.shopsilverburn.com.

Scotland may be small, but we do have an ever growing fashion scene and the Debenhams Press Show is always a season highlight.
The SS15 show marked a new location for the always popular show – the last few have been held at Glasgow’s Blysthwood Square hotel so the mega move to Gallery of Modern Art was rather exciting. It really gave the show an added wow-factor with the incredible details of the Gallery especially the high ceilings and grand pillars.
The show itself was kept short and sweet and – as always – really captured the most stylish collections available in the department store. From embellished gowns perfect for a summer wedding to the swimwear which had the audience in awe (admittedly, this was also down to the perfectly toned models who had everyone planning their immediate trips back to the gym).
Sipping champagne while looking at the new collections really confirms there is no better way to spend a rainy Thursday evening in the city centre! Roll on spring summer..
