I can’t quite believe it’s December already, it has been such a quick year!
I love the run-up to Christmas, even though it’s busy and perhaps a little stressful, I thought I would round up a few of the things I’ll be doing in Glasgow ahead of the day itself.
PREP YOUR BROWS
‘Tis the season for flawless eyebrows and no one knows brows better than the Benefit ladies. After not having my brows done in ages, visiting the Benefit Brow Bar in House of Fraser Glasgow last month made me remember how they get the shape and colour just right. I’m already booked in for my pre-Christmas appointment – make sure you book yours in now.
SHOP LOCAL
It’s easy to get caught up in all the high street Black Friday deals and pre-Christmas offers, but there’s something extra special about shopping independent brands for your presents. This weekend, 3rd and 4th December, sees the Etsy Made Local Glasgow held at The Briggait in the Merchant City. The two day event sees the cream of the crop of Scotland’s Etsy Sellers coming together with over 65 different designer makers each day. The fair will take place from11.30am until 4.30pm and promises to be Glasgow’s best alternative Christmas shopping event.
DRINK MULLED WINE
It’s weird, I wouldn’t normally, y’know, drink hot wine, but I will be indulging in a festive beverage at the Glasgow Christmas Markets this year. There was controversy with the iconic ice rink not making an appearance at George Square this year, but the extended market looks so pretty. the St Enoch Square market is still there too so lots to enjoy! The George Square market will be here until 29th December and the St Enoch Square event will be on until 22nd December.
FIND THE PERFECT PARTY DRESS
Christmas is the official party season meaning lots of outfit planning. Take the style pressure off by going to see Victoria Martin, the fabulous stylist who has joined the intu Braehead team as their Personal Shopper. The two hour appointment is completely free and Victoria will help you find your dream party dress or you could opt for a wardrobe haul to see you through to the new year.
GO GREEK!
Enjoy a break from Christmas shopping with a Mediterranean twist and indulge in Halloumi‘s Fizz Friday deal. For £20 per person with a minimum of two sharing, enjoy six Greek Mezze and a bottle of their finest fizz, available right through until the end of 2016. P.S – the offer has been so popular, they have now extended it to a Wednesday and Thursday too.
What will you be doing this month? I’d love to hear any suggestions on what to do in Scotland before Christmas.
