Whenever I wear anything particularly feminine and floaty, chances are you will see me roughing it up a little with something a little more edgy.
Whether it’s my trusty leather jacket or studded shoe boot, I don’t feel a really girly dress is very ‘me’ until I add a contrast. As soon as I saw this Glamorous jacket, I knew I had to have it. Incorporating faux leather, studs and – this season’s favourite – embroidery, I knew it was a must-have for the season ahead. I had spotted the Gucci version on the catwalk and the high street Topshop one too, but I couldn’t say no to the amazing price of this one. It’s currently sold out on the website, but keep an eye out as they seem to restock it. There’s also a really lovely matching pair of shorts and a similar skirt which are a great way to wear the trend.
The pleated skirt is the perfect contrast, adding a nice flow to the outfit. I got this one from Nobody’s Child after their Glasgow event a few months ago. I love the neutral colour and the skirt’s called popcorn which even sounds nice! I teamed it up with this pink slogan tshirt I picked up from Bershka when I was in Barcelona, I love their collections and hope Scotland will get a Bershka at some point too. We’ve got Zara and Massimo Dutti now so it’s only fair to welcome their little sister…
What do you think of the embroidery trend for AW16? I would love to hear your thoughts.
