let’s go shopping

Balmain Dreaming

If you’re on Instagram, chances are you’ve caught sight of the beautiful Balmain blazer of the moment. The structure. The gold buttons. The way it transforms an outfit.
Unfortunately, the blazer of dreams comes with a price tag which could put you way into your overdraft. I’ve been looking for a similar style and I loved this Archive by Alexa Chung for M&S style, even more so when it was down from £49.50 to £15 (thank you to Glasgow Fashion Girl who alerted my attention to the amazing online sale a few weeks ago). I love that it gives a really nice polished look, the slightly oversized fit was just what I was looking for. Teaming it with a simple silk cami and my favourite summer denim shorts just felt the perfect mix of chic and casual.
I love keeping my shoes and bags in good condition and it paid off for this look. The leather boots were a firm favourite when I bought them around 6 years ago (hello Topshop sale) and have seen many a night out. I’ve kept them cleaned and in their box ready for their next wear and the gold detailing tied in perfectly with the gold buttons. This Pretty Little Thing bag is also up there with my most used bags, it looks way more expensive that it was and really finishes an outfit off.
I think this exact blazer sold out pretty fast in the sale, but I thought I would round up some of my favourite Balmain-esque dupes which are an ideal cover up heading into autumn. Wear with ripped denim and silky blouses for a city chic feel.
What do you think of this look? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks so much! I know, after the shopping I've done this month so far, my bank account isn't letting me do much more!
