The 5 Minute Beauty Look with Guerlain

If there’s one thing I can never get used to about being a blogger is the beautiful generous goodie bags from all the exciting events happening in Scotland.

Even working in marketing and PR, I always loved putting together goodie bags for client events – maybe the excitement I get over a little bag of nice things  stems from my love of lucky bags when I was younger (shout out to the Claires Accessories lucky dip bags that were filled with mystery prizes, they were the BEST – do they still do these?!).
Anyway, I hope this doesn’t sound like I just love the goodie bags, it’s not that at all, I am genuinely overwhelmed that brands invite me to such amazing events and fuel my love for fashion and beauty even more, their support in even noticing my blog is honestly a dream come true and it inspires me to work harder on it everyday. The thing I always take away more from these events is getting a proper introduction to brands you might not have used before. I think this especially applies to beauty products as I always get stuck in a bit of a make up routine rut and stick with what I know.
It was the House of Fraser SS16 Press Show which gave me my proper intro to Guerlain’s product offering. Opting to try out a Guerlain look using the products on a day I was working from home and running errands, I finished this look in around 5 minutes including the shameless messy bun (I was in a bit of a rush, sorry). Oh and, side note, the packaging is so pretty – always a plus for me! The La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour in Poppy Cap* is an ideal colour for daytime and for those who don’t wear a red lip normally (like me and my usual go-to smoky eye/nude lip combo). It’s a really lightweight texture with a slight shimmer, it just feels really nice to wear and the pretty scent makes it feel even fresher.
I am trying to stop wearing such heavy eye make up during the day and keep it for going out so I went for a quick coat of the Maxi Lash So Volume Mascara in Noir*. Mascara is something I find really hard to change as I have been so disappointed at some of the more expensive ones I’ve bought but this one honestly did impress. It made my lashes look really thick and long and didn’t clump, my main let down of other mascaras. It’s not often I will say this, but I think I’m converted to this mascara now, I had people actually comment on it when I was out.
I couldn’t resist a quick DIY mani with La Petite Robe Noire Nail Colour in Red Heels* – the cute bottle matched the lipstick! It’s a nice red colour and I always feel much more put together when I have my nails painted (and importantly, not chipped). So, there you have it – a quick beauty look with some rather pretty products.
